About Leyenda

Leyenda exists to help teachers and students stay oriented in terms of what repertoire to practice and when. It is named after the famous piece by Albeniz, which also happens to be the Spanish word for legend.

The story

Rodrigo & Koh met when Rodrigo wanted to start taking lessons in 2018. A few months later, we were shooting the breeze over lunch and had the idea for a comprehensive database of classical guitar music. We figured there would be a fair amount of tedium in terms of data-entry, but that it would be useful both for teachers and students. We were up to the task, provided we could find time in our schedules.

Finally, in the summer of 2019, we got to work on Leyenda. And here we are, after hundreds of hours spent writing code, grading pieces, and entering data. We hope you find it useful.
